10 mobile phone apps I cannot live without

In today’s times, smartphones are becoming our second lifeline, it’s hard to part with them, so much so that it has started to turn into an addiction for many if not used wisely. While the cause of these addictions is games or social media most of the time, there are people who use it in the context of work and entertainment.

I have stunned people by being on my phone for the most prolonged period of time and while sometimes it’s due to social media or games, most of the time it’s because I write on my phone because of how convenient it is or spent hours and hours reading e-books, or surfing the web and making notes because I’m a curious creature.

So in this post, I’m going to share my favorite apps that I can’t live without and spoiler alert, Instagram is there as well.

1. Amazon

Not going to lie, I love shopping, a lot. My Amazon app has many wish lists, from a wishlist specially dedicated to just books or crafts and DIY items to products my dream house can have and thousands of fashion products that might not even be available anymore. I do not buy sporadically, but I do love hopping there from time to see and discover new trends.

2. Canva

Canva had become one of the best graphic design apps in the last few years and with its brand-new features that it launched recently, it is set to compete with other known sites like Google Docs, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.

I have had this app for the last four years on my phone and as a designer, I love how convenient and quick it is in creating pins, stories, posts, etc. when I don’t want to hop on Adobe Illustrator or photoshop.

3. Google Docs

I think Google Docs is something no one can live without. Not only it is helpful in creating notes, but I have also written full novels of over 40 chapters, and I’ll be damned if I ever lose those. From formatting to grammar checker, to voice typing and multi-use screen, it has so many great features, and it keeps adding more and more.

4. Instagram

The most obvious one, but unlike others who spend scrolling through their feed for hours, I get bored easily. I can’t live without this app because it’s the only means to promote my blogs, stories, and designs and not because I’m addicted to the social lies it spreads. I have 3 accounts that I use to promote my work and one personal where I rarely post anything.

5. Notion

If you have never heard of Notion, what are you doing? I’ve come across this app recently, and I’m totally in love with it. It is a productivity app that you can customize however you like, and it has so many amazing features. I use it to keep track of my daily schedules and also to track my blogs and story ideas. It’s literally an all-in-one productivity app.

6. Pinterest

From collecting random pins I love to creating and promoting pins of my blogs and designs, Pinterest is my go-to app. Instead of scrolling through Instagram, I spend more time on Pinterest collecting pins of either my favorite celebs, shows or writing tips and tricks, or some extraordinary fantasy world that can stir up my imagination.

7. Prime Video

Who doesn’t love spending some time immersed in watching shows or movies while wrapped up in a blanket and chewing on popcorn and drinks? Well, I definitely do. Instead of going out with friends, I have always preferred this, and I always will. It’s an introvert’s paradise. A cherry on the cake would be if it’s on a cozy, rainy day when I have nothing else to worry about.

8. Spotify

I am someone who loves listening to music according to my mood, and Spotify is the best place for that. A few years back, my laptop was filled with over ten thousand downloaded songs, but not anymore. Spotify has become my go-to app whenever I’m in the mood to listen to something, be it music or podcast.

9. Wattpad

Honestly speaking, I’m nothing without Wattpad. I might have started there as a fanfic writer, but it helped me in growing a lot as a writer and content creator. Even though it’s not as great as it once used to be, I can never get rid of this app.

10. Youtube

Is there anyone else who spends hours at night, probably like 2 AM, watching YouTube videos? Because I do. Or I used to, and now it has shortened to barely sometimes. YouTube used to be my support system on bad days. Watching my favorite creators used to brighten up my mood. Now, I spend time there getting inspired by the work people put in for us and brightening up my day by listening to meditation videos and doing follow-along workouts.

There are many other apps on my phone, but these 10 are the most important to me. I can part with others, but can never with these, ever.
