The Three Seasons of My Creativity

Do you have those days when you feel like… I can do so much today, but other days are like, I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to get out of bed, I don’t want to be productive, but “consistency is the key”. This was me this summer season. I posted last in February 2026 and then… crickets! So where was I this whole time, why did I not post anything?

I opened my laptop a lot of times, planning to write a few words, but the summer heat wouldn’t let me. I still kept opening my blog page, hoping to get some inspiration or motivation, but the words just wouldn’t come. I felt guilty for not posting anything, because every other writer’s advice is to stay consistent, which honestly is a huge challenge for me.

What I Realised

A while ago, I was brainstorming about starting a podcast (not coming anytime soon, still an idea in my head), and I realised, I am much calmer, focused, and productive in monsoon and winters. Summer is like a grainy noise, annoying and irritating, and I work best the rest of the two seasons. It was an instant realisation. Till now, I used to feel guilty, bad, and overthink that I’m not posting anything, but then, I realised, I don’t need to be consistent, it doesn’t work for me the same way as it might for others. For me, consistency isn’t forcing words onto the page in every season. It’s returning to this space whenever I have something genuine to share.

I can schedule and post too, that’s what I’m thinking of doing onwards, but the main point is, I need myself to be cozy and calm to write anything, and that happens in monsoon and winter. This was the realisation that got me back on my laptop and started typing again, and obviously, the stormy weather, and I no longer feel guilty about it.

Why Cozy Coffee Dayz Matters to Me

I started Cozy Coffee Dayz because writing brought me comfort, and I wanted to share my thoughts, struggles, and lifestyle with the world. This space is like an online journal, and I don’t want to turn it into an obligation or a brand where consistency matters more than anything. I want to come back to this space when I have something interesting to share, a poem, review, some deep thoughts, or if something exciting has happened in my life.

I have accepted that taking breaks and prioritising myself is okay. Cozy Coffee Dayz will be there whenever I’m ready, but forcing myself to write something when my brain and body are screaming to rest, that won’t work, at least for me.

My Three Seasons of Creativity

As a creative person, every season brings something for me.

Summer

I might not be in the writer zone in the summer season, but the reader in me never dies, even in summer. So, I do read, maybe not a lot, but I do. Ideas crash like waves in my head, but they never pour down on pages to form a chapter or blog post. I am a creative person, so summer becomes the binging season, be it books, movies, or shows, and I collect a lot of ideas, which mostly set in motion slowly and steadily with the arrival of stormy days.

Monsoon

My absolute favourite season, which I have ranted about before as well. Stormy days calm me and fuel my imagination. I might not post everyday, but I do write everyday, whether it’s my fanfic, brainstorming fantasy worlds, or blog posts. And definitely enjoying my cozy time with a hot mug of coffee or hot chocolate. I simply love the calmness and peacefulness monsoon brings.

Winters

Winters are slow and one of my favourite seasons to enjoy evenings and nights. The nights are longer in winter (here in India), and I’m a night person, so these are my perfect – wrap around in a blanket and binge on something – days. My imagination is still wild, but I love to become a blanket burrito and enjoy my favourite hobby. And obviously, write.

What’s Next?

I have a few ideas in mind that I have started working on. I really want to get back to posting on my blog, but… I might create a bank and schedule posts for next summer. I don’t know what process I’ll opt for or might vanish again, but I’ve stopped feeling guilty for not being consistent. It’s okay to live your life the way you want, away from the social platforms and the internet. Life and mental health matter more than anything. If that’s in perfect harmony, the rest will follow.
