Review Of My Life – 2023 So Far

Half of 2023 is over and in these six months, my life has taken so many turns. From desperation to calmness, I’ve come a far way.

At the start of 2023, when I was struggling and had dependency on writing and sometimes doing nothing at all, one of my friends told me that years from now, I’ll remember those tough months and will be proud of myself that I walked through it without giving up, and here I am, only after few months, doing great.

Can I say I’m where I wanted to be? Am I happy? Am I independent and living life to the fullest? The answer is no. No, I still have a giant bridge to cross, but I’m way better than before. I have a job that pays decent, I have people who support me. Mentally, I’m in a better place. So yes, I am doing better, but I have a lot to do and achieve, a lot to read, write and share with the world.

Where was I in these months?

I’ve mentioned in my previous blog that I took a break from everything and focused on myself. My life was hectic, a mess, and I was confused as to what and where my life would take me. I was writing at the start of this year, but suddenly stopped. Why? I lost interest. I wanted to write, but the interest was gone.

Not just in writing, but for the majority of things, I was clueless and directionless. I’m still finding my direction, but now I know where to find it – in writing content and fiction. Especially fiction. A few months back I applied for a job through a connection and luckily, I got it –  as a copywriter.

Now, I had never learned copywriting before that, so I’m not only working as a copywriter but also trying to learn and upskill at the same time, hence, my super hectic schedule. I wanted to get back into writing fiction, content and so much more, but I used to get so much tired that on weekends all I wanted was to rest or enjoy and not touch anything related to writing.

I did that till May. I got a work-from-home job for one month in February. It was in technical writing and I remember crying while working because I had something inside me telling me that technical writing is not my thing, it was blocking my creativity. I was so directionless at that point. I was looking for jobs on the side, but in both writing and fashion, even though trying in fashion didn’t feel right.

A few months back, I was diagnosed with clinical anxiety and depression because of all that overthink and stress. Apart from seeking help, I’m also fighting it with meditation, working out, journaling, relaxing, and enjoying whenever I can.

In these six months of my life, I’ve seen so much, and reflecting back, I realize how much only a few months can change a person. I’m not the person I was at the start of this year. I’ve come a long way already. And I plan to keep changing for the better. To be a better version of me.

I had paused everything I was doing in these months, blogging, content creation, fiction writing, designing, and so many other things as well. When June came, I knew it was enough of resting, I have a lot to do, a lot to share, and a lot to create. Even if it will be a slow process, I need to start that process. For myself, for the love that I have for writing and creating. Money will come as I keep working on everything.

My priority is me and my health first, as everyone’s should. Love and passion towards anything can be achieved if we’d be healthy and strong to chase the life we want for ourselves, be it a luxurious, ambitious life or a simple, slow life.
